September 09 Modern Flapper Hat - The "Claire"This has been one of those patterns I have been wanting to try for a while :) Tonight I finally whipped it up.
It only took me about an HOUR to make this hat! The pattern is wonderfully written, and the finished project is just absolutely gorgeous. I used Caron Brites, Watermelon, to match my little Retro Wrist bag. :) Perfect match!!!
May 11 WIP ~~ The Diana Cardigan.Well, I have completed all the parts for the Diana Cardigan and are slowly and surly placing them together. My husband really likes the design, although, I am still undecided. I suppose I will have to see it all completed before I can say whether or not I like it. The arms are VERY long... VERY long... and the body is very short... VERY short. LOL Well, here is a pic of one single arm that I got stitched together (Notice I haven't taken care of the tails May 08 DIANA CARDIGAN - HAS ANYONE MADE THIS?I am currently working on the Diana Cardigan by Betsey Ann and am finding that I am having problems with her patterns because she writes her patterns uniquely. Although I am certain I am correct in my assumptions, I thought I would ask before I get through the entire project to see that I am wrong. LOL If you have successfully crocheted this project and are willing to answer one question, plz email krochetnkat@adelphia.net
The pattern, BTW, is an extremely fast project. I think I could have finished this project in a matter of 4 - 5 hours had I not run into issues with her wording. I highly recommend her patterns (Or at least this one, as it is the only one that I have :P ) But all of her designs are BEAUTIFUL.
UPDATE: I did get this figured out after a few tries. Tonight I started making the bells for the arms. I will take a photo of mine when it is completed, but I am making mine ARAN for the cardigan, and Maroon for the bells. Looks very nice so far. May 01 OWATA HATIt only took me about three hours to make this hat by DOT, called the OWATA Hat. Now, I was looking to go with more of a SNOOD Look and less of a rasta look... so I went with black worsted weight yarn and just made a few modifications to transform it into a snood. It turned out adorable IMO, and I wore it outside late last night when the weather was chilly. PERFECT FIT.
You can get the pattern here http://patbythehook.blogdrive.com/archive/5.html If you have never been to the PATTERN BY DOT website, you have GOT to go. This is one of the most talented and generous individuals I know, not to mention kind. She has amazing hats, garments, and now TOYS!!!!
PLEASE NOTE: THE PICTURES SHOWN ARE FROM DOTS SITE. UPON ATTEMPTING TO TAKE MY OWN, I REALIZED THAT I HAD LEFT MY CAMERA ON SINCE MY LAST POST AND RAN THE BATTERIES OUT LOLOL I WILL POST MY OWN PHOTOS ASAP AND REMOVE THESE.
September 06 Crochet SnoodToday I made a snood which can be found at
I made it out of white sport weight yarn, purple thread, and instead of crocheting roses for the side, I purchased two pretty purple ribbon roses with a pearl bead in the center. It turned out very pretty. I didn't make the band like hers, I made it just plain because I thought it was getting a little too wide. I am making another one... Black yarn, red thread, and red ribbon flowers for the side. On this one I do also plan to bead and make it wider. This one is perfect for around the house wear tho. Just perfect.
Make sure you visit her page and see how wonderfully creative this woman is.
